How To Make Homemade Cosmetics

Toner: This toner will leave your skin fresh, clean and invigorated. Essential Oils: 25 drops (choose from up to 4 oils) Base: 100ml distilled water or flower water Pour the water into a large, sterilized dark bottle. Add the essential oil and allow to stand for a month, shaking often. Pour through a filter paper lined funnel into a large bottle and shake. Cream: Made of oils, waxes and water, creams keep the skin pliable while providing protection against the elements. Essential Oils: 4 to 6 drops Base: 7gm Beeswax, 60ml sweet almond oil, 30ml flower water or distilled water Put the beeswax and carrier oil into a heat resistant bowl. Stir over a pan of boiling water until the mixture melts. Remove the bowl from the pan, and slowly add the water to the mixture, stirring constantly. Keep stirring while the cream begins to cool, the add the essential oil. Stir until the mixture has thickened, then transfer it to sterilized jars. Pomade: A pomade is a thick, rich mixture of oil and wax that has a wonderfully softening and smoothing effect on dry hands and feet. Essential Oil: 20 drops Base: 15gm beeswax, 100ml carrier oil, 4tbsp lanolin (optional for dry skin) Measure the beeswax, carrier oi and lanolin into a heat resistant bowl. Stir over a pan of boiling water until melted. Remover the bowl from the pan. Keep stirring while the mixture begins to cool, then add the essential oil. When thickened, transfer to sterilized jars. Fruit or Yogurt Mask: Masks rejuvenate and refine the skin. Essential Oil: 1 drop Base: 1 tbsp ripe fruit or 1 tsp plain live yogurt. Mash the fruit and sieve it into a small bowl. If using yogurt, spoon it into the bowl. Add the essential oil and mix well. Apply the mask to clean skin, avoiding the delicate area around the eyes, and wash off after ten minutes.
