Each essential oil used in Aromatherapy has its own unique healing and therapeutic properties. Overall, aromatherapy can:
  • Reduce stress, depression or anxiety
  • Relieve migraine and headaches
  • Help with poor circulation
  • Assist with pain and swelling
  • Reduce the severity of common colds and flu
  • Aid burns and skin conditions, such as acne and eczema
  • Relieve hypertension
  • Assist with respiratory conditions
  • Alleviate flatulence and digestive problems, such as indigestion
  • Control bladder infections
  • Reduce pre-menstrual and menopausal symptoms
  • Calm nausea and motion sickness
  • Relax muscles
  • Act as a natural aphrodisiac
  • Enhance memory
  • Helps you relax and sleep

Methods of use:

Common methods of using oils include inhalation, vaporization, massage, bathing, and compresses.

Essential oils (except in rare exceptions) are not to be applied to the skin in an undiluted form. Inhalation: This method is excellent for helping with respiratory and emotional problems. Add two drops of essential oil to a bowl of cold water. Steam inhalation is traditionally used to relieve nasal and bronchial congestion or infection. Covering your head and bowl of water with a towel, inhale the healing vapours.

Vaporization: Essential oils can be warmed so that they evaporate and create an aroma. A popular method is to use a burner. Four to five drops of a single oil or combination of oils are sufficient. Too ascent a room, place the drops in a vaporizer or in a small container of water set on a radiator. You can also place a drop or two onto a light blub. For individual therapy you can place a drop or two of oil onto a tissue or pillowcase.

Baths: Essential oils do not dissolve in water. For relaxation, pleasure, stress relieve, or soothing achy muscles, a soak in bath water that has been treated with a few drops of essential oils is s delight. Milk is a good medium to use to dilute the essential oil. Another medium in which essential oils will readily dissolve is alcohol, such as vodka,
